Trek Bicycle shifted the roles and responsibilities of several key members of the Waterloo, WI-based global marketing staff to address the changing realities of marketing to an increasingly global audience.


“The growth of the brand has led us to the changes we’re making today. These people are all great marketers and bring a lot of experience to their new roles,” said Dean Gore, Trek’s Global Director of Marketing.

Below is a list of who is now responsible for what at Trek.



  • Michael Mayer (Michael_Mayer@trekbikes.com) – Road and Triathlon Brand Manager: A former Trek brand manager, Michael Mayer returns to the company after an 8-year hiatus working with a variety of athletic brands in addition to founding his own marketing firm. He brings his diverse experience back to Trek as the brand manager for all road and triathlon product.

  • Michael Browne (Michael_Browne@trekbikes.com) – Bontrager Global Marketing Manager: After spending time as Trek’s Mountain Bike Brand Manager, Browne will be directing the marketing efforts of the Bontrager brand of cycling accessories for both hard and soft goods.

  • Travis Ott (Travis_Ott@trekbikes.com) – Mountain Bike Brand Manager: Taking over for Browne on the mountain bike side of the Trek brand will be Travis Ott, who previously managed the marketing of the Gary Fisher Collection and Town category of bikes.
