Trek Bicycle Corp., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, issued a recall for approximately 7,000 Trek Allant+ 7 e-bicycles with Tektro brakes. The company said the rear brake hose could kink and break when the handlebar is turned causing the rider to lose control and posing a crash hazard.

Trek has received 58 reports of riders losing control of the recalled e-bikes, including two minor injuries.

The recall involves Trek Allant+ 7 e-bikes. Trek is printed on the bike’s frame and the model name is printed on the top tube. The following models are included in the recall:

  • Allant+ 7 (Nautical Navy)
  • Allant+ 7 Lowstep (Nautical Navy)
  • Allant + 7S (Nautical Navy and Matte Quicksilver)
  • Allant +7S Stagger (Nautical Navy and Matte Quicksilver)

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled Trek Allant+ 7 e-bikes and contact their local authorized Trek dealer for a free repair.
