Trango announced Ty Foose as its director of product. As one of the original founders of the climbing holds brand eGrips, acquired by Trango in 2002, Foose’s experience is key for the brand as it expands innovation in sport, trad, gym, bouldering, and alpine climbing.

“For the past two decades, Trango gear has been with me on countless climbing adventures in dozens of countries. I’ve used, abused and admired their ropes, cams, harnesses, biners, packs, and whatever else made the ascent possible,” said Foose. “My journey as a climber, and as a climbing hold shaper, has long been supported by the incredible staff at Trango. Today, I’m super excited to join their legacy of passionate innovation and have the opportunity to contribute my 30+ years of experience in designing cutting-edge climbing products.”

“Ty brings a wealth of experience in the gym and bouldering markets along with advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, allowing Trango to expand our offering of innovative products designed to improve the climbing experience and support climbers wherever their vertical journey leads them,” said Chris Klinke, president, Trango President.

Trango has been designing climbing gear since 1991. It is also the U.S. distributor for Spanish rock-climbing shoe company Tenaya while also owning eGrips, a rock-climbing hold company that produces climbing grips in Colorado.
