TrainingPeaks, which creates tracking and planning software for endurance athletes and coaches, announced that Claudette Stevenson will take on the role of senior director of product development, overseeing the company’s product and engineering departments.
“We are very excited to welcome Claudette to the ever-growing TrainingPeaks team,” said Dirk Friel, co-founder, chief of fitness brands at TrainingPeaks. “Her vast experience within the endurance market will help lead us as we broaden our offerings and continue to see business growth across the entire ecosystem of TrainingPeaks products.”
Stevenson joined TrainingPeaks after spending 15 years with Garmin. She began her career there as a software engineer, then system engineer and eventually a product manager, and played a key role in the development of the cornerstone of Garmin fitness products: device/PC/Mac application, web application and their interfaces. She was also one of two software engineers who created the first Forerunner product, and she holds several patents associated with both Forerunner and Edge devices.
Stevenson credits Garmin with giving her the skills and mindset for innovation and creativity—attributes she looks forward to flexing in her new role. “At the heart of TrainingPeaks is the deep desire to help people meet their athletic goals, and for more than 15 years they have never waivered from that mission,” said Stevenson. “I am thrilled to join TrainingPeaks at such an exciting time, one filled with rapid growth and the continued company evolution into what we need to become in order to fulfill our mission for more and more athletes.”
