Tracksmith, an independent running brand, will open its first permanent retail space, the Trackhouse, at 285 Newbury Street in Boston.

Located near the Boston Marathon finish line, the space is designed to be a community hub and haven for runners. Alongside the brand’s collection of apparel and accessories, the Trackhouse will feature a runner’s lounge, live race streaming, training groups and a library.

“We want to create the running store of the future, embodying the energy and passion of the great hangouts that originally made Boston a world class running city,” said founder and CEO Matt Taylor. “Runners are often thought of as solitary athletes pounding out their miles at dawn, but there’s a huge community aspect as well, bound by the shared experience of training and racing. With the Trackhouse, we hope to provide a physical space for runners to connect and celebrate the world’s greatest sport.”

The Trackhouse will offer product testing, gear storage and a racing library. Runners will also have the opportunity to join the brand’s product team for daily runs. Inspired by the legendary Eliot Lounge, Boston’s iconic running bar, the Trackhouse will also host social and cultural events for the running community.

The Tracksmith Trackhouse will open Thursday, April 13 and will host a full slate of marathon weekend programming. Throughout marathon weekend, the brand will also offer exclusive Boston apparel and customization. For more details visit tracksmith.com/trackhouse.

“After three years in Wellesley at the halfway point of the marathon, it seems only fitting that our next move would be 13.1 miles down the course,” said Taylor.
