The Timberland Co. appointed Anne Cavassa as senior director of North America merchandising. Prior to joining Timberland, Cavassa was a consultant at Ibex Outdoor Clothing where she was responsible for guiding the company in transition from wholesaler to multi-channel retailer.

Previous to Ibex, she was general manager at Nike and launched Nike's new retail concept in the U.S. Preceding Nike, Anne was with Eastern Mountain Sports where she was the director of merchandising responsible for leading strategic product shifts across apparel, outerwear, footwear and hard-goods. Before Eastern Mountain Sports, she had appointments with Reebok International Ltd., Tommy Bahama and Eddie Bauer that encompassed product line management as well as design and development.

In her new role, Cavassa will be responsible for the development and execution of seasonal initiatives and product positions that deliver on the company's strategic intent for the North America region. One of her priorities will be to work collaboratively across global product creation, sales, marketing, demand planning and sales operations teams and to set strategic direction across the Men's, Women's and Kids' categories.

“I'm pleased to welcome such an accomplished retail merchandising veteran to the team,” said Mark Bryden, Timberland's vice president and general manager of North America.  “Her 20 years of industry experience spans design, development, product line management and retail merchandising expertise, primarily in the outdoor marketplace.  Her skills will be instrumental as we fully develop Timberland's merchandising team in the U.S. and drive brand growth around our outdoor heritage.”

Cavassa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and completed an Apparel Design Certificate program at Seattle Central Community College. She is an avid outdoors person with a passion for running and biking, is an Ironman tri-athlete, hiker and skier.
