The Hockey Company Holdings announced the proposed acquisition of Norbert Ewald GmbH (Ewald Sport Service), a leading hockey equipment distributor in Germany, in order to better service the Central European market.
This acquisition will continue to strengthen The Hockey Company Holdings Inc.'s existing presence in the Central European hockey market. Business will continue as usual for Ewald Sport Service, ensuring a seamless transition. Janne Heino has been appointed General Manager of the new entity, in addition to his current role as head of the European exports division, and will be based in Germany. Achim Ewald will continue with his current responsibilities as Managing Director (Geschäftsführer) and Norbert Ewald will remain active as a consultant to the Company. The transaction will be effective January 1, 2004 and clients can anticipate dealing with existing staff within the current infrastructure.
