The Allegheny Trail Company will be Blair Corp.’s newest brand, targeting the outdoor apparel wholesale market. The Warren, PA-based company says that ATC will offer an entry-level line of apparel basics, including polo’s, tanks, cargo pants, and fleece that will allow retailers to compete with “major national brands.”

Blair has appointed Dick Holcomb as the GMM of their new subsidiary. He comes to ATC with over 30 years of experience in the apparel, sporting goods and outdoor industries, which include positions at A.J. Prindle, Woolrich and the Outdoor Industry Association.

“Allegheny Trail will allow the outdoor retailer to have a quality line of apparel, at very competitive price points and good margins.  Now retailers can compete with national chain labels, like American Eagle, the Gap or Old Navy as well as some of the current outdoor brands in the market,” said Mr. Holcombe.

>>> We’re not sure where they are going with this, but the last we heard, outdoor retailers don’t want, or need, to compete with Old Navy
