Teton Gravity Research (TGR), an action and adventure sports media company, launched its eighth Annual TGR Grom Contest. The competition seeks to find the best of the best in ski and snowboard youth, giving those under 18 the chance to be discovered and kick off their action sports career.

The grand prize includes one-year sponsorships from Fischer Skis and 686 and the chance to film with TGR. Additionally, the winner’s edit will be shown at all the 2017 global winter film tour stops, and he/she will score a trip to a 2018 Freeride World Tour competition and a week at Windells camp.

Parkin Costain, the 2015 Grom Contest winner, said, “Getting to shoot in Jackson with the TGR crew gave me a great look at the professional filming world. They know what they’re doing! I’ve learned that you have to be willing to wait for everything to come together for professional results – weather, snow, safety, mental focus etc. Don’t rush it.”

In addition to the grand prize, starting today and running until July 31, skiers and riders under 18 can submit an edit on TGR’s community page, the Stash, and share a teaser on Instagram to go in for weekly and monthly prize packages from partners: Fischer Skis, 686, IFSA, Evo, Rome Snowboards, Jones Snowboards, Pret Helmets and Dakine. Prize winners will be chosen by a panel of judges, including TGR cinematographers and top athletes like Jeremy Jones, Angel Collinson, Ian McIntosh and Sammy Luebke.

“With so many talented young athletes out there today, we want to give those athletes the chance to be discovered,” says TGR’s CEO and co-founder Todd Jones. “The Grom Contest is a unique way to connect with our younger fans and also allows us to continue to fuel the passion that led us to start TGR in the beginning. In addition to celebrating today’s top athletes, TGR is dedicated to lifting up and giving jump-starts to the athletes of tomorrow.”
