Terramar Sports, a maker of technical outdoor apparel and performance base layers, has partnered with Goodwill Industries and is donating over $500,000 worth of base layers and long thermal underwear to the organization’s relief efforts.
“As soon as Sandy hit, Terramar put the wheels in motion to help those affected,” says Jeff Danzer, President of BrandAxion Inc, Terramar’s marketing consulting firm, who’s offices were also severely affected by the storm. “Some people have lost everything, including houses, clothes, belongings and really need our help, especially now, as the weather gets colder. By donating such a large amount of product, we hope to help as many people as we can.”
Terramar has a strong track record of giving back. In 2011, the company spearheaded a large-scale tornado relief project, dubbed “Community Rebuilding From The Inside Out”, benefiting residents of Joplin, MO and Tuscaloosa, AL. In 2010, Terramar organized another donation drive that benefited earthquake victims in Haiti. Since 2010, Terramar’s relief efforts have been responsible for donating over $1 million worth of products to victims of disasters.
“We hope that Terramar’s current initiatives can give a light of hope to these affected by Hurricane Sandy,” Ben Lieberman, Terramar's president, explained. “When I heard about the hurricane, I felt that Terramar could help out the residents by keeping them warm and comfortable in our long thermal underwear in this difficult time.”
