The Tecnica Group USA, Inc., the U.S. distributor for Blizzard skis, Lowa outdoor footwear, Nitro snowboards, Nordica ski boots, Nordica skis, Nordica apparel, Rollerblade, Tecnica ski boots and Tecnica winter footwear, has realigned its business operations. Notably, Tecnica and Blizzard will now operate as a single business unit led by Sam Cook, president.  Cook will be supported in the Blizzard program by Jed Duke, Blizzard division manager. This relationship between Tecnica and Blizzard will combine sales representation in many territories as well as distribution, customer service, warranty, credit and promotions.

“This unified approach for Tecnica and Blizzard will maximize not only our selling efforts, but also utilize the entire promotional and support staff we have in house and in the field,” said Cook.

As a result of these changes, some key territories have been realigned to provide common representation for the Tecnica and Blizzard product lines in the following fashion:

  • New England: Ivar Dahl will continue to represent Tecnica and will take on Blizzard
  • Connecticut and New York: Nick Robinson will represent both Tecnica and Blizzard
  • Colorado: Joe Decker will continue to represent Tecnica and partner with George Blair to represent both Tecnica and Blizzard
  • Northern California/ Northern Nevada: Clem Smith will continue to represent Blizzard and take on Tecnica
  • Utah: Justin Harvey will represent both Tecnica and Blizzard

Rollerblade USA, currently based in Hamilton, NJ, is in the process of consolidating all operations in the West Lebanon, NH, headquarters of The Tecnica Group USA. This relocation is expected to be completed next month.

Nordica and Nitro will continue to operate in West Lebanon under the direction of president, Andy Knittle.  This most recent winter season saw a positive consolidation of Nordica’s position as a leader in ski boots and an innovator in ski performance. Bill Post, president of Nordica Apparel, has seen increasing interest in the Nordica line of ski clothing which has brought innovation in fabric and performance features at exceptional price value points.

Lowa remains based in Stamford, CT, under the direction of general manager, Peter Sachs. The performance driven outdoor footwear brand has seen a rebound in demand for quality outdoor footwear. Sachs also manages the Tecnica Outdoor line and the T-Shoe line as well as Lowa boots and shoes.

Peter Weaver, CEO of The Tecnica Group USA, explained the company’s philosophy.  “As one of the few privately held companies in our categories, we focus sharply on products, then develop support programs based upon the market and build relationships with our wholesale and retail customers.  All of our brands are led by people with passion for the products and the respective sports.  Our in house service groups facilitate making it easy to do business with us, while our “back office systems” provide a cost effective structure.  Counter seasonal products and diversification allow us to balance our services throughout the year.”
