A4, the Los Angeles-based athletic sportswear manufacturer, has introduced a new  “A4  Custom”  uniform program aimed at the Team Dealer. The custom uniform division will be added to its already vibrant  “A4 Express” stock uniform divisions.

In a statement, A4 said it will utilize advanced manufacturing processes to drive the cost of custom uniforms lower. Up until now the dealer could only achieve significant cost savings by placing long lead orders and accepting imported product.

“Our goal is to redefine the Custom Business the same way we did the stock business”,  says Mark Mertens CEO, of A4.  “Budgets are getting tighter at all levels.  We need to PUSH THE LIMIT on value, design and service. Our goal is to reduce custom prices by 25% to 35 percent”.

A4 said the custom business represents a significant portion of the uniform business, and the A4 pricing model will allow dealers to offer their customers greatly improved prices.

“We want our customers to be more profitable. Our dealers will be able to compete with the direct sellers and still maintain margins,” says Mertens.

A4’s core business is manufacturing and supplying  football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and softball uniforms to schools, clubs, and universities. A4 Express  is A4’s  new quick ship  free freight  basic program for the Sporting Goods Specialty retailer .
