Maverik Lacrosse announced that current Team USA player, Toronto National MLL Champion and former University of Maryland defensive great Joe Cinosky is the latest player to come on-board with the manufacturer.
Cinosky will be representing Maverik at clinics, camps and tournaments nationwide including his newly formed “Lakeshore Lacrosse” training camps, in the company's efforts to grow the sport.
“We are very careful in the players we choose to represent our company,” said John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse. “Everyone on our team brings a different strength to the table and Joe's leadership skills combined with his love of the sport are qualities we admire and want to harness.”
Cinosky joins John Christmas, Kyle Sweeney, Jay Jalbert, John Gagliardi, Sean Lindsay, Mike Springer, Paul Rabil, Dan Hardy and Kip Turner in Maverik’s on-going efforts to grow the sport of lacrosse nationwide.
“I am excited to team up with Maverik Lacrosse and help them develop and promote what I feel is the best gear in the game,” said Cinosky. “I am hoping to make Maverik synonymous with midwest lacrosse and ultimately grow our sport at the national level.”
Upon graduation from the University of Maryland in 2008 Cinosky was drafted in the first rounds of both the MLL and NLL drafts and currently plays for both the Minnesota Swarm and the Toronto Nationals. Joe's hard work at Mountain Lakes H.S. in New Jersey paid off at the University of Maryland where he was a starter all four years and captained the Terps' in 2008 while also garnering All-American honors. In his junior year, Joe was also recognized as a preseason Tewaaraton Trophy candidate and received a preseason honorable mention as a potential All-American. Cinosky drew the attention of recruiters in high school after being named twice as a US Lacrosse high school All-American, a two-time selection as New Jersey defenseman of the year and most notably helped lead the Lakers to the New Jersey State Championship in his junior year of high school.
