TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company hired Scott Leightman as its new director of public relations. Leightman joins TaylorMade after nine years in the National Basketball Association, most recently as the vice president of public relations for the Charlotte Bobcats, where he managed the organization's extensive on and off court communication efforts and was the franchise's primary spokesperson and liaison with the media. He will likewise lead TMaG's efforts in public relations and media relations.

Prior to the Bobcats, Leightman was director of basketball communications for the Phoenix Suns from 1998-2003. Prior to that he served as sports information direct at LaSalle University, and as assistant sports information director Lafayette College and Wagner College.

“Our continued growth and success has made it necessary to strengthen our efforts in a variety of areas, including public relations,” said Bob Maggiore, TMaG vice president of brand marketing, to whom Leightman will report. “Scott's talent and wealth of experience are certain to help us communicate our brand image and messaging to the public and the media.”

Leightman joining TMaG's PR team will also allow John Steinbach, senior director of public relations, to expand his role as a media liaison for all three brands.

“John's proven strength is his ability to develop and foster close working relationships with members of the media,” says Mark King, CEO and president. “We're giving ourselves a big advantage by giving him even more time to devote to that purpose.”
