Al Andrews, the co-founder and chairman of Tasc Performance, passed away at 78 from cancer.
Andrews founded Tasc Performance, an activewear brand based in New Orleans, known for its natural fabrics, with his son in 2010. Before that, he had been an executive working at multiple apparel firms, including Nautica, and, in 1996, founded Andrews Sport, also based in New Orleans.
Tasc Performance wrote on its Facebook account, “Tasc Performance is a family-founded, family-run company that began from the heart and shows true care for its team members. It’s with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our co-founder Al Andrews. Al is the patriarch of Tasc and a pillar of our company values – his passion for retail, competitive spirit, team camaraderie, and genuine care for his family and team will have a lasting impact on Tasc.
“From his early years as a college basketball star to his founding of the Tasc Performance brand with his son, Al set the tone of what it means to be a team leader and a great father. He consistently worked hard towards his goals, strived to be the best version of himself and led by example, all while achieving his dreams alongside his family and the Tasc team.
“Today and every day we will honor and remember Al.
“In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the name of Al Andrews to the Tulane Athletics Fund.
