TAG Sold to Lansing Sports’ Philip Rosati

Team Athletic Goods (TAG), the buying group, has been sold to Philip Rosati Sr. of Lansing Sports Shop in Lansing, IL. Rosati, whose family has run the team dealer and retail store in since 1954, will become TAG’s CEO.

The business had been majority owned by Trevor Swangard, president of TAG Inc; Tony Rosati, who founded Lansing Sports and is Philip Rosatis father; and Ron Kruse, owner of Hayden Athletics in Montgomery, Ill.

In an interview with SGD TEAM Business, Philip Rosati said he has been a member of TAG since it was founded in 1979.  I have always been a believer in the TAG line, said Rosati. After a long period of self reflection, I decided that I would make an offer to purchase TAG and see if Ron, Anthony, and Trevor would be interested in my offer, the rest is history!

The acquisition of TAG does not include TAG Team Uniforms. TAG will continue to conduct business with TTU as it has in the past to help serve its dealer network.

Rosati added that although there were a few changes to its management team, its committee stays the same and the majority of its workforce remains intact.
