SwingAway Sports Products hired Robert Ducey as vice president of SwingAway's newly created professional and institutional division.
“This was a Division of SwingAway that we had to
create and with Rob's Professional Baseball and Business Experience made him
the perfect candidate,” said John J Flading, President and CEO of
SwingAway Sports Products. “We knew we had to attract an individual with
Professional Playing experience but equally and maybe more importantly this
individual needed to have connectivity to multi levels of the Professional
Market as well as the business acumen and demeanor to succeed. Rob is that man”.
Ducey was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1984 and retired from Major
League Baseball as a player in 2002. During his 18 year playing career, Rob
played on 6 MLB Teams including The Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Texas
Rangers, California Angels Philadelphia Phillies, and the Montreal Expos. Rob
also played in Japan and was a player on the 2008 Canadian Olympic Team and was
a coach in the 2008 Olympic Games. Rob continues his career in the MLB in many
different capacities including Managing, Coaching, and Scouting after his playing
career.
Rob was first exposed to the SwingAway in 1997 when he joined the young but
extremely talented Seattle Mariners. “Everyone on the Mariners hit the
SwingAway religiously and that included Super Stars like Ken Griffey Jr., Alex
Rodriguez, Jay Buhner and Edgar Martinez,” says Rob, “There was such
a buzz around the league about the SwingAway that the MLB players knew when
they came to Seattle to play they would find the Greatest Hitting Machine in
Baseball. It did not take long until all the Pro Teams and 100's of players
owned SwingAways.”
“My expertise is hitting and player development, from the mental side to
the mechanical and fundamental side. The SwingAway teaches and then re-enforces
Perfect Swing Fundamentals for all players at any level. I joined the SwingAway
Team because I believe it is the best Hitting Training Aid every created and
this will give me the opportunity to help all players to become better hitters
from Tee Ball to the Major League,.” says Ducey.
