Rob Santa, long time owner of Sturtevants Mountain Outfitters has announced that effective Jan. 1, the longstanding retail and outfitting company will be acquired by Glenne LLC of Idaho.

To ensure a seamless transition, Santa will continue in an advisory capacity while Olin Glenne, a 15-year Sturtevants manager, experienced outdoor guide, and competitive skier, will assume operational responsibilities. Longtime seasonal resident Ben Jacobson, an avid skier and mountain-biker, will be Olins investment partner but not active in daily management.

Since 1948, Sturtevants has been recognized as a leading outdoor retailer-locally and nationally,” said Santa. “Skiing is our principal heritage, but Sturtevants has seen steady and remarkable growth in summer programs including bicycling, fly-fishing, hiking andoutfitting services. We have a talented and strong staff, locations and infrastructure, and most importantly, a client base to ensure continued opportunity and growth. Im grateful to have worked with an amazing group of people and will serve Sturtevants, its friends and customers for some time to come.

Glenne acknowledges he has big shoes to fill; Rob has shown steady leadership and vision for our company and the community. Sturtevants has a solid platform and dynamic culture which allows us to evolve along with the valley we love. Im personally motivated to build on the outdoor adventure side of the business. Its in my DNA. With a growing public interest in experiencing the Idaho backcountry, Sturtevants aims to deepen its commitment to those interests while continuing to provide unparalleled service and products to its growing client base.
