StrideLite was awarded the ISPO BrandNew Award for 2006 for their Jimbo Jacket. The Jury, 18 international sports experts, met in Munich to consider 171 companies from 25 countries. Judges viewed, and tested all products and were, “amazed by the high quality.”

The winning design: the Jimbo Jacket, is a waterproof/breathable garment ideal for activities such as running and cycling. The unique Strobe-Lite configuration insures that cyclists and runners are highly visible from the side when approaching an intersection.

StrideLite is a line of unique athletic products that addresses the safety needs of athletes who train at night. Utilizing a patented Electroluminescent Strobe-Lite System, StrideLite garments offer 360º visibility from over 1/4 mile.

On the design motivation, Bouchard offered, “we train too and recognized the need for lightweight safety solutions. However, most of what was available was simply lame and ugly.”

This is the latest in a series of awards garnered by the young Washington-based company. Recognition from Canada’s National Post, Chicago’s Museum of Architecture and Design (GOOD DESIGN AWARD), Strategy Magazine and others, have proven that good design can make a difference.
