Stio named Geartrade, the online resale platform for used outdoor gear and apparel, the preferred ‘extended product life’ resale partner supporting the brand’s Second Turn program that encourages trade-ins of gently used clothing and outerwear.
Geartrade supports Stio Second Turn as its preferred independent resale partner, ensuring that trade-ins that are not renewable back to a near-original state find a suitable home.
“Our program is still in its infancy, but we’re making progress thanks to partners like Geartrade, who share a similar perspective on the outdoor industry and the role it can play in reshaping our supply chains and product life cycles for the better,” said Evan Torrance, VP of Marketing at Stio.
In the past year, Stio said its Second Turn program “redirected more than 2,000 units into the resale market, partly through Geartrade, which provides an ‘extended product life’ sales venue for products that may have previously ended up in a landfill. It also exposes younger, value-driven customers to the brand, who are typically more aware of, and interested in, upcycling and product renewal.”
