Stearns, the watercraft company, has laid off more than 20 employees, including president Paul Ebnet. The downsizing will be taking place over the next nine months, director of human resources Loretta Trulson said in a statement. Affected employees were informed of the changes in November.

The move comes as Scott Henrikson, a veteran consumer goods executive from Stearn's parent company Jarden Corp., on Janurary 10 was named SVP of Sales for the Americas for Jarden's Coleman and Stearns brands. In May, Stearns' parent company, K2 Inc., was acquired by the Jarden Corp.

“The position reductions are based on business needs of the new organizational model, with some administrative and back-office redundancies identified at Stearns,” Trulson said.
