Sports Specialists Limited is anticipating a solid turnout at its Winter Sports Market show and a strong kickoff to the snow sports buying cycle. Taking place January 19-21, 2007, in Las Vegas, and preceding the SIA SnowSports Show, the Winter Sports Market (WSM) is a private trade show co-organized and co-hosted by SSL and another buying group. While sharing supplier exhibition space, both buying groups host their retailer meetings and events separately.

“I am thrilled about our schedule for the upcoming WSM show, “said Steve Rogers, President and CEO of SSL. ” We have new retailers to introduce to the group, new suppliers showing product and presenting exclusive buying programs, and an exciting lineup of events.”

“We are pleased to welcome three very diverse new retailers to the SSL family,” said Rogers. Board Sports, the premier snowboard and wakeboard store in Southern California, became an official retailer of SSL this season and represents the first boardsports-only member of the group. Sporthaus Inc. has two retail locations in Southern Washington State and runs a balanced winter/summer sports retail operation. Snow Time Resorts embodies a collection of three ski and snowboard resorts in Southern Pennsylvania consisting of Liberty Mountain, Whitetail Resort and Ski Roundtop.

Rogers explains, “All three new retailers bring value to SSL through their industry experience, regional market knowledge and collective buying power. They may seem disparate; however this is a prime example of the variety of background and experience that contributes to the group’s collective knowledge and insight.”

Joining the select group of 80+ suppliers who participated in 2006, this year the Winter Sports Market welcomes three important new brands. Roxy Snow, a division of Quiksilver, Inc. is the leading lifestyle brand catering to the fun, lively, daring and confident attitude of young women aged 13-21. Lole is the up-and-coming Canadian brand providing fashion-forward feminine activewear for women 25-45 and Under Armour, is the originator of high performance apparel for men, women and youth.

Rogers concludes, “There is no dispute that the fastest growing segments of our business are fueled by women and youth, more specifically Generation Y. We also recognize the trends towards graphically coordinated packages and fashion forward, high performance apparel and accessories. This is why Roxy Snow, Lole and Under Armour are such exciting and crucial additions to the leading supplier group taking part in our Winter Sports Market this year.”
