Spyder Active Sports, Inc., the ski apparel brand, signed a licensing agreement with Catchlight Fashions, Inc. for design, manufacturing, sales and distribution of Spyder-branded footwear. The collection includes men’s and women’s shoes and boots, and children’s boots. The line will reach retail in Fall 2007.

“True to the Spyder brand, this footwear line offers technology and fashion above and beyond any other offering in the market,” commented Howard Ruff, Catchlight Fashion’s sales director. “Our inspiration was to design footwear people would wear while driving to the mountain to ski, then to the restaurant or resort after hitting the slopes.”

The collection boasts functional benefits for mountain-based end use, such as waterproof materials, sealed seams, Thinsulate™ insulation, double-layer midsole cushioning, and outsoles with anti-freeze, anti-slip, and snow-release properties.

Spyder President Jake Jacobs explained that Spyder sought a licensee with parallel high standards. “We were looking for the right partner to bring the same ethos of innovation, technology, and brand position to footwear as Spyder does to apparel. The team at Catchlight fit that requirement perfectly,” he said.

Sales, manufacturing, distribution, and customer service of the new line is handled directly by Catchlight Fashions. The footwear will initially hit the North American retail marketplace in Fall 2007.
