According to a regulatory filing, the statutory waiting period for regulatory approval of Bass Pro’s acquisition of  Sportsman’s Warehouse is scheduled to expire on February 5, 2021, although it may be extended by the Antitrust Division or the FTC.

According to the Sportsman’s Warehouse filing, Sportsman’s Warehouse, on January 6, filed its notification of the proposed merger with the Antitrust Division and the FTC under the HSR Act. On January 6, 2021, the Great Outdoors Group, the new corporate name of Bass Pro, filed its notification of the proposed merger with the Antitrust Division and the FTC under the HSR Act.

On January 4, publicly traded Sportsman’s Warehouse entered a definitive agreement to join privately-held Great American Outdoors Group, the parent company of Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, White River Marine Group, and a collection of resorts. Missouri-based Great American Outdoors Group, which will remain a private company, has agreed to acquire the 112-location chain with 8,000 employees for $18 per share in cash, valuing the chain at around $800 million.
