Marc Brunelle, president of Sportshoe Center, Inc., a Maine based athletic footwear and apparel chain, has agreed to sell six locations to relocate resources and take advantage of new opportunities. Four of its stores will be sold to Olympia Sports, while the remaining two will be sold to an employee. Effective June 9th, locations in Scarborough and Wells, ME as well as locations in Manchester, VT and Lake George, NY will come under the banner of Olympia Sports, another Maine based company.

The above stores will be having clearance sales beginning May 1st. Dick Coffey, president of Olympia Sports has said “our hope is to retain Sportshoe Center's well trained and professional staff as we welcome the opportunity to open in new markets.”

Two additional Sportshoe Center stores in Londonderry and Merrimack, NH will be sold as well to a long time employee under a license agreement using the Sportshoe Center name. According to Brunelle, “downsizing the company's retail holdings while minimizing the impact on store personnel was an important objective and will allow us to take advantage of new and different business opportunities.”
