Sport Chalet, Inc. will celebrate the grand opening of its new 40,000 sq. ft. store located at 1350 North Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks, California 91360 on Friday, May 26th. This location will feature an on-site SCUBA training pool, which will open late summer 2006. This is the company’s 41st store.
A grand opening celebration and sale is scheduled for Friday, May 26th through Sunday, May 28th. Grand opening activities will include the Gale Webb Extreme Sports & Air Show, an appearance by Heavyweight Boxing Champion James Toney, an appearance by Olympic trainer, TV fitness personality and inventor of the AB Doer, John Abdo, a fishing seminar with celebrated author, radio and television host Ronnie Kovach, an appearance by the SPLIT surf team, sports demonstrations and free giveaways. On Friday morning at 9:00 am, members of the Thousand Oaks City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and other guests, along with Sport Chalet General Manager, Jeff Sanders, will kick off the festivities with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. The Thousand Oaks High School marching band will perform at the opening ceremony.
Sport Chalet will have several parking lot activities, including a free Rock Climbing Wall and Bungee Trampoline, vendor booths showcasing new products and a KROQ radio station remote. Customers may enter to win a GRAND PRIZE Sport Package, including a pair of Columbia sleeping bags, a tent, men’s and women’s apparel, shoes and hats. In addition, hourly prizes will be given away all weekend long.
