Premiere Italian tubing maker Dedacciai will license patented Specialized Zertz viscoeleastic vibration damping technology. Deda will use the proprietary technology under the DAVS (Deda Anti-Vibration System) name in its top-of-the-line carbon and aluminum tubesets, which are used by boutique road brands such as DeRosa and others.

“When Specialized first showed the technology last summer, a lot of people were skeptical”, said Dedacciai President Luca Locatellli. “But once our engineers started testing it in our laboratory, we confirmed the Specialized results and became very interested in the technology.”

“For racers, or enthusiasts who just like long or rough road rides, Zertz technology can make a huge-and now, independently proven-difference,” added Specialized Founder and President Mike Sinyard. “The longer or harder or rougher the ride, the bigger the rider benefit.”

Zertz are just one element in an overall paradigm shift that’s changing the way riders relate to bikes, Sinyard explained. “High performance increasingly relates to high comfort, and cyclists are demanding products that deliver both.” Specialized now offers patented Body Geometry technologies for every point of contact between rider and bike, including gloves, grips and bar padding, shoes, and saddles. “I’m passionate about these new technologies, and the benefits they bring to cyclists”, Sinyard said. “And we’ve got more new products coming.”
