Mark Shaw has been promoted to vice president and general manager of American Athletic, Inc. effectively immediately. He is replacing Jeff Bramble who has left the company. Shaw will remain based at AAIs headquarters in Jefferson, Iowa and will report to Scott Creelman, CEO of the Spalding Group, which includes Spalding, AAI and Huffy Sports.
“Over the past three years, Mark has been key in facilitating change throughout the organization and has brought a strong, disciplined approach to the manufacturing process,” said Creelman. “His background in finance, manufacturing, human resources, training and development provide a solid foundation as he moves into this new role.”
Shaw had been with Wiese Corporation as controller and human resources manager for 10 years prior to joining AAI in 1997. He left AAI in 1998 to become director of human resources for the Green County Medical Center. In 2002, he rejoined AAI as director of human resources and safety and was named director of manufacturing and human resources in January 2004.
Shaw earned a B.A. degree in business education from the University of Northern Iowa, a B.S. degree in management from Upper Iowa University and his MBA from Iowa State University.
