SOL Paddle Boards hired Chris Johnson as the brand’s executive director of operations.
“SOL is built by paddlers, for paddlers, because we can better understand and serve the needs of every customer,” said Johnny Lombino, owner and founder of SOL Paddle Boards. “After working with Chris for years as an athlete and designer, we’re stoked to welcome Chris aboard as a full-time member of our executive team.”
With 12 years of experience in the outdoor industry, Johnson has worked as both a snowsports retail buyer and a professional SUP athlete. He will oversee SOL’s manufacturing operations, design development and production, along with helping to streamline quality control, customer and retail services.
Based in Vail, CO, Johnson was the 2018 Vail Whitewater Race Series champion and has spent the past six years as a Team SOL athlete. As a product designer, he helped develop and introduce the world’s first underfoot camber technology for SUP, along with a stringer system for the brand’s GalaXy collection. In addition to his new role at SOL Paddle Boards, Johnson will continue racing on the Colorado whitewater circuit, river surf events,
