For the first time since it acquired M.C. Soffe, Delta Apparel, Inc. saw its Delta division sales outpace the Soffe business in the fiscal second quarter ended January 1, 2005. Management said Soffe sales were impacted by “a conservative inventory position on fashion fleece.” They said they believe an expanded Soffe product line will “achieve sales growth through the spring selling season.”

The Delta business sales increase was attributed to increased unit sales and higher average selling prices.
