The Snow Industry Summit, an educational and networking conference that made its debut this past April, is scheduled to be held at Copper Mountain Resort, Colo., March 29 – April 1, 2005. The event is being organized by TransWorld Media, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) and Mountain Sports Media. Last year's inaugural Summit drew 300 suppliers, retailers and media in the snow sports industry. Organizers expect to exceed that number in 2005.
“We were very pleased with the turn-out for the first Summit and gratified by the positive feedback it generated,” said David Ingemie, president of SIA. “We look forward to working with our partners TransWorld Media and Mountain Sports Media to make next year's program even more substantive and more inclusive than our initial effort.”
In a survey recently conducted by SIA, Summit 2004 participants said that the conference met or exceeded their expectations. The opportunity to network with colleagues, a strong mix of speakers, workshops and time on the snow were cited as reasons for the reaction. The Summit primarily drew middle to upper level management from supplier companies and retail shops.
Summit 2005 will focus on topics that touched a nerve this year. The post Summit survey indicated that participants were interested in learning more about the women's and children's markets and anything Internet-related, particularly the role of the medium as a marketing and branding tool. Marketing to ethnic groups also received high marks.
