Skins reached an agreement with Carlsbad-based Gathering Storm Holdings to handle its U.S. business operations. Effective August 16, Skins USA will relocate from Boulder, Colorado to Carlsbad where Gathering Storm Holdings will assume distribution, sales and marketing responsibilities.
The company also announced that it has retained sports-apparel industry veteran Tim McCool to lead the business.
SKINS currently has wholly owned subsidiaries in Australia, China, Germany, France and the UK and has distributors in New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, India, Spain, Benelux, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, and Canada.
“SKINS is committed to becoming the global leader in therapeutic compression wear and the U.S. market will continue to play an integral role in realizing this goal,” said Skins CEO Jaimie Fuller. “Looking at Tim’s 28 years of experience and proven track record with brands such as adidas, Nike and Babolat, we are confident he and his team can rapidly accelerate our brand growth in the United States.”
At Babolat North America, a leading manufacturer of tennis products, McCool served as President and oversaw U.S. sales and marketing. Under his direction, the brand catapulted to No. 2 in market share within the specialty trade channel in less than a year.
