Ski Kare, LLC, the largest distributor of Vola Racing Waxes in the United States, was acquired by Kyle and Rachel Kucin. Gifford Hoback, the former owner, will continue to work for the company in a consulting and manufacturing capacity.
Hoback founded Ski Kare in 1976. The Kucins grew up in Colorado and have worked in the ski industry in various capacities for many years. Kyle is based in Minnesota and is an independent consultant to Elevate Outdoor Collective, the parent company of the K2 family of brands.
Ski Kare said it will continue to offer products for retail sales and the needs of service and boot fitting departments within ski and snowboard shops across the U.S., with inventory moved to Minnesota to have a central shipping and receiving location.
“As a proud sponsor of Masterfit University and their boot fitting courses, Ski Kare strives to have the best boot fitting aids available,” the company said in a media release. “From grinding belts to boot punching, and everything in between, Ski Kare has a wide range of consumable and retail goods for winter retailers.”
