Simon Property Group, the largest owner of shopping malls in the U.S., will close its locations for the second consecutive year on Thanksgiving Day. Its shopping malls will reopen on Black Friday.
The move by Simon Property Group comes as more retailers, including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco, and Kohl’s, have closed their retail store locations on Thanksgiving Day after shuttering locations in 2020.
The retailers have closed their stores for social distancing reasons over Black Friday weekend and to give employees time off for work during the pandemic.
