Signa Sports United (SSU) hired Stefan Salzer as managing director Tennis-Point Berlin, a German company specializing in selling tennis and running equipment.
Salzer’s position is effective October 1. He comes from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a managing director and partner in the retail space. He spent more than 17 years at BCG working with clients in Europe. He also worked for three years in South Africa, building BCG’s retail team.
Salzer will work alongside Tennis-Point founder Christian Miele.
Stephan Zoll, SSU CEO, said: “I am delighted Stefan is joining SSU with his vast experience from consulting many retailers across many countries over the last 15 years. He will also bring to the role an innate entrepreneurial mindset, having established a start-up before joining BCG. And he is a sports enthusiast with a love of ultra-running.”
Salzer will be responsible for “strengthening stability and scalability in SSU’s core functions. He will continue to drive the growth of the company in existing markets and across new business lines,” said the company.
