Sierra Trading Post plans to open its third Colorado store in Colorado Springs, according to a building permit pulled to remodel a former Circuit City store, according to Gazette.com.

The news site, which is published by The Gazette newspaper, reported May 9 that a remodeling permit pulled to remodel the 30,000-square-foot space named Sierra Trading Post as the occupant. The space has been vacant, except for temporary that was vacated by Circuit City in 2009, according to the article

Sierra Trading Post opened its first two Colorado stores in Fort Collins and the Denver area last year and is reportedly scouting sites for its first two stores in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic seaboard.

The company broke ground earlier this month on a project at its headquarters in Cheyenne, WY that will essentially double the size of its fulfillment center to about 700,000 square feet.

Sierra Trading Post specializes in buying outdoor gear at close out and other liquidation channels and reselling it online and through its stores at discounts of up to 70 percent off initial full retail price. Since being acquired by off-price retailing giant The TJX Companies in 2012, Sierra Trading Post had grown from two stores to six. .
