Shoe City, with 30 regional stores in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia, has promoted Don Heasley, former vice president and COO, to president. Greg Greenberg, formerly the men’s footwear buyer, was promoted to the newly created general merchandise manager.
The regional retailer also launched a new concept and expects to double in size within five years. The two executives will spearhead the growth.
Ted Greenberg Owner/CEO says, “I feel very confident that the goals of this company will be initiated and accomplished with these key changes in upper management.”
Under the driving force of Heasley & Greenberg, Shoe City has established and executed brand new concepts/initiatives. After over a year of planning and development, Shoe City launched their e-commerce website www.yourcitymycity.com on July 7th, 2011. Shoe City’s slogan/jingle, “Your City, My City, Shoe City” has come to life and is featured as the headliner behind their future business on the web. The website features products from many of Shoe City's key brands including Adidas, Reebok, New Balance, New Era, Converse, Puma, Timberland, and more.
Shoe City has re-innovated themselves on the store level as well, unveiling a brand new concept store that features a boutique retail experience from the ground up. From the wood floor to the chandelier lighting, every detail has been articulately selected, to provide customers with a completely different and fresh shopping experience.
The first concept store opened on July 26 in Owings Mills, MD not far from Shoe City's corporate headquarters in Baltimore. An aspirational build-out by STH Designs brings a modern and classy feel to customers who enter the store. Elaborate leather chairs, wood tones, brick walls, and granite counter tops highlight this new store’s character. One-of-a-kind fixtures and build-outs complement the store’s uniqueness. Shoe City is so excited about this new concept that they plan to implement the style and atmosphere into future locations.
They have also made plans to renovate several of their older locations to match the look and feel of this new store.
