Quiksilver has been on quite the acquisition tear recently, expanding both their wholesale division through the Rossignol deal reported last month, and now their retail division through the acquisition of Surfection. Surfection has been operating in Australia with seven Surfection surf shops and five Quiksilver/Roxy concept stores throughout New South Wales. Quiksilver will purchase five key Surfection stores along with the five Quiksilver/Roxy concept stores. The Surfection stores will all be gradually converted to Quiksilver Boardriders Clubs.

Chris Athas, owner of the Surfection Group, will become Quik’s retail director for Asia Pacific, where he will work directly with Clive Fitts, president of ZQK Asia Pacific .
Quik says that this acquisition is “integral” to the company’s current retail growth and its long term Asia Pacific strategy in opening Boardriders Club stores in Japan, China, and South East Asia that complement its wholesale business.
