Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drives and checks detailed spec packages. Supervises all packages are costed and correctly input into product data management system
  • Holds fit sessions with pattern maker, design and tech services to make appropriate changes in the garment if needed. Coordinates with field-testing to ensure garment performance
  • Works with designers to assist with fabric, trim and construction options, including costing information for each style
  • Serves as coordinator between marketing, design and outside contractors during development process, monitoring progress through to finalization; act as point person for all development related communication
  • Coordinates and follows up on development of prototype product with pattern maker, and product engineer
  • Maintains an open line of communication with production, focusing on sourcing, pricing, fabric and construction issues. Tracks and understands production issues for future planning
  • Works with Product Line Manager (PLM) to determine sales sample needs and imputes development needs to production for (SMS) order processing. Expedites & monitors sales sample progress and alert appropriate parties of delays when problems arise
  • Drives development timelines; maintains accountability for on time -Proto type, -Sales sample and -Production commercialization based on seasonal calendars
  • Inputs “Bill of Materials” information into Product Data Management system; builds logo specifications sheet; artwork information sheets as well as verification of product sewing specification sheets
  • Assists Director of Merchandising when necessary with catalogue preparation for marketing services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel/Textile Design, Technology, Merchandising, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field, with 5 plus years of apparel or textile industry experience
  • Experience in the sports apparel industry strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of apparel/accessory construction, material construction and properties, textile manufacturing, costing, pattern making, embroidery and screen printing preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Computer Skills:

    o MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
