Inspired by flora and fauna in the Chilean forest preserve of Parque Oncol, Selk’bag launched its limited-edition Rainforest wearable sleeping bag made from 100 percent recycled material for indoor or outdoor use.

As one of the largest reserves of biodiversity on the planet, Parque Oncol, located on Valdivia in northern Chilean Patagonia, is home to an abundance of plants and animals, many of which live only on Valdivia.

“Creating our Rainforest bag with recycled materials is the next step in accomplishing our larger sustainability mission in 2021,” said Cristobal Murillo, co-founder and CEO, Selk’bag. “Our Chilean-based design team has long been inspired by Parque Oncol’s unique climate and biodiversity. We felt compelled to share its unparalleled beauty with our community and help draw attention to the wonders nature has to offer.”

Each limited-edition bag features an original hand-drawn print that includes plants and birds unique to the forest.

The Rainforest is made with 100 percent post-consumer recycled materials, including fabric that uses 54 discarded plastic bottles in each bag. Filled with 100 percent post-consumer recycled insulation, the bag includes double slider zippers, adjustable hood, hand openings, kangaroo pocket, removable booties, a DWR water-resistant polyester shell, and an ISO temperature rating of 55⁰F. Lightweight and packable, the Rainforest easily stuffs into its compression bag for transport. or storage.
