Kranos Corporation dba Schutt Sports filed a lawsuit today against Riddell Inc. claiming that Riddell is infringing three patents covering Schutt’s football helmet technologies.
The Schutt complaint identifies Riddell’s SpeedFlex, Revolution Speed, Revolution Speed Classic, 360, Revolution IQ, Foundation, Revolution Edge, Revolution Attack, Revolution Attack-I, Attack, Victor-I and Victor helmet models as infringing Schutt’s patents.
“Schutt continues to set the standard for innovative football technologies,” said Robert Erb, CEO and president of Schutt. “We take the violation of our intellectual property rights seriously and intend to vigorously defend our patent rights when competitors such as Riddell use our patented technology without permission.”
The lawsuit requests an injunction that would prevent Riddell from continuing its patent infringement and an award of damages for Riddell’s past patent infringement.
