Scheels is asking for $8 million in incentives to open its first store in Oklahoma City, OK. The Oklahoma City Council is scheduled to vote on whether to approve the request on Tuesday, August 12, according to local reports.
The city’s Economic Development Trust unanimously approved an $8 million funding agreement to support the development of the store, pending approval. If approved, the store would be approximately 300,000 square feet in size and is expected to open in 2028. The store will be located on the west side of Lake Hefner Parkway, north of the Kilpatrick Turnpike.
Scheels opened its first store in Tulsa, OK, in October 2024.
