Footwear brand Scarpa North America has appointed Matt Ginley and Danny Ciavarro to its sales team.
Ginley joins as the new North American sales manager, overseeing the brand’s sales team and executing strategic brand growth in the North American market.
Ciavarro joins Scarpa as the new sales operation manager, charged with managing the dealer and product service teams, executing internal sales operations plans and supporting outside sales efforts.
Combined, Ginley and Ciavarro bring 20-plus years of industry experience to the sales team and add tremendous value to the Scarpa family.
Ginley joins Scarpa from Rock and Ice Magazine, where he has been working as an account manager for the last two years. Before Rock and Ice, Ginley worked as a sales rep for key brands in the outdoor and climbing space, including 11-plus years as an in-house sales rep for Black Diamond.
“I am extremely excited for this opportunity. There aren’t many brands like this left in this industry—a core, family-owned business whose only focus is to design and manufacture the best possible products for the sports they serve,” said Ginley. “Scarpa’s brand strength and market share have been growing every year and that’s a testament to the quality of their products and the team behind them. I’m looking forward to helping the brand continue to grow in the North American markets.”
Ciavarro joined from Salewa/Dynafit, where he spent the last five years. Ciavarro started his career with Salewa/Dynafit as a customer service rep, grew to a key accounts manager and then a customer service manager for the last two-and-a-half years. Before that, Ciavarro worked as a key holder at Prana, route setter at The Spot, a production manager for Revolution Climbing and a climbing coach at Planet Rock in Michigan.
“It feels great to be joining such a committed and motivated group. As a lifelong climber, driven in both my professional and mountain pursuits, I already feel a strong sense of alignment with the team and brand. I look forward to contributing to Scarpa’s growth and success in the years to come,” Ciavarro said.
Mark Mathews, vice president of sales at Scarpa, said, “Both Matt and Danny are experienced outdoor industry professionals, who also happen to be very committed and talented climbers and outdoor athletes. With the consistent sales and market share growth we have seen since Scarpa North America’s inception, it is time to expand our staff and I am confident that both Matt and Danny will fit in seamlessly with the team and culture here at Scarpa, and help us continue to grow the brand.”
