The Small Business Administration is offering a webinar titled “Crowdfunding: Is it Right for Your Business?” on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Durin the 2 pm webinar Pravina Raghavan, deputy associate administrator for the Small Business Administration’s Office of Investment and Innovation, will discuss the current state of the crowdfunding landscape as it applies to small business owners.

Raghavan will discuss the history of crowdfunding as well as the current status of the equity crowdfunding rules as proposed by the Securities & Exchange Commission. She will also answer questions on the role the SBA foresees itself playing as equity crowdfunding becomes a more permanent option for small businesses to get access to capital. Participants will also have the chance to discuss ways they can formally engage in the rule-making process by communicating with the SEC during the open comment period,  which closes on Feb. 3.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions both during and ahead of the webinar. You may ask live during the call or send your questions to @BusinessForward on Twitter using #Crowdfund4Biz.
