Saks Fifth Avenue, the high-end boutique retailer, inked a partnership with American professional basketball player Anthony Davis in the retailer’s first fashion label collaboration with an athlete.
The look? “Luxe athleisure,” said said Tom Ott, SVP, GMM, Saks Fifth Avenue.
Davis was selected first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by New Orleans, and is a three-time NBA All-Star. He also earned a gold medal playing with Team USA at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
His collaboration with Saks will result in a fall 2016 capsule collection dubbed Saks Fifth Avenue X Anthony David. The limited edition collection officially launches August 10 within 23 Saks locations – a tribute to Davis’ jersey number – as well as on saks.com.
“I wanted to bring athleisure to another level,” said Davis. “Collaborating with Saks Fifth Avenue on an exclusive capsule was a dream come true. I was very hands-on with the entire process, from choosing the prints to designing the silhouettes; this capsule truly embodies my fashion perspective.”
The capsule is comprised of 11 unique styles, from a mixed media bomber jacket and neoprene shorts to graphic t-shirts and designer joggers.
