Running USA announced that Jay Holder, its executive director since 2023, is departing to join USA Track & Field (USATF) as its chief content and communications officer. In the interim, Kathleen Titus, president of the Board of Directors, will assume the role of executive director role.
A search for the company’s next executive director is underway.
During his tenure, Holder “led the development of a comprehensive strategic plan, introduced a modernized membership structure with expanded benefits, established new research partnerships, built strategic international alliances, and welcomed a group of new members and sponsors to the nation’s leading nonprofit in the running industry, said Running USA in a media release.
“Jay has been a transformative leader for Running USA,” said Titus. “His energy, vision and deep understanding of our industry have propelled us forward. While we will miss his leadership, we are excited to see him step into a prominent role at the USATF. We wish him continued success in this next chapter.”
“I am extremely proud of the work Running USA has done and continues to do,” said Holder. “There is incredible momentum behind our mission to educate, engage and elevate the running events industry. The organization’s staff and board are well-positioned to carry this momentum forward.”
Holder will support Running USA’s transition efforts until a new executive director is named.
