Running USA announced that Dawna Stone has been hired as the organization’s fourth CEO in its 22-year history.

Stone was co-founder and president of The Women’s Half Marathon series, the nation’s largest women’s running series and Women’s Running magazine.  Her career includes roles at Morgan Stanley, Deloitte Consulting and Active.com. Stone is also the author of ten books, a certified health coach and a motivational speaker.

“It’s an honor to lead Running USA as its Chief Executive Officer,” Stone said. “I’m excited to be back in an industry about which I am so passionate and to be working closely with our extraordinary Running USA staff, board of directors, members, and partners. I’m confident that together we can build on our existing strengths and lead the organization to even greater success.”

Stone will begin her new role on January 4, 2021.
