Rumpl, the maker of technical blankets, and Snow Peak, the Japanese outdoor design brand partnered for the second time on its next-gen, limited-edition NanoLoft Takibi Blanket.
The brand’s Portland-based teams first collaborated in 2020 to design a fire-resistant blanket that combined Rumpl’s sustainable proprietary 100 percent post-consumer recycled NanoLoft insulation with Snow Peak’s recycled ripstop with fire-resistant aramid material.
For 2022, the blanket is updated with a higher-performing, eco-conscious face fabric. A proprietary blend of natural, fire-resistant fibers, mixed with cotton and polyester, the face fabric maintains performance, softness and strength. With no chemical coating, the fibers preserve fire resistance through machine washing with no harmful chemicals leaching into the water supply. This updated version comes in a tan colorway, Amenity Dome, inspired by Snow Peak’s tent collection.
“It was an easy decision to partner with Snow Peak again given their emphasis on designing a high-quality, beautiful product,” said Wylie Robinson, CEO and founder, Rumpl. “For this year’s launch, we improved the fire resistance of the blanket and incorporated Snow Peak’s iconic tan colorway, something their consumers will immediately recognize and appreciate. We’re confident this blanket will elevate your around-the-fire Takibi experiences with friends and family.”
The blanket’s topside is a fire-resistant woven fabric blend of mono-acrylic and cotton ripstop and features Rumpl’s 100 percent post-consumer recycled proprietary NanoLoft insulation, which is made up of small circular clusters that mimic the properties of down.
“Time by the fire, what we like to call Takibi time, is a staple in outdoor culture. At Snow Peak, we believe Takibi time is one of the best ways to slow down and reconnect to nature and one another. For years, we’ve designed gear and apparel that create restorative fireside experiences,” said Matt Liddle, COO, Snow Peak USA. “Our first collaboration with Rumpl was a success, and we’re proud of the second product we’ve created together.”
