Ruffwear launched two collections for Spring 2022—the Camp & Hike (for camp/trail) and Backpacking Collections (focused on the needs of multi-day trekking in the backcountry).

“At Ruffwear, we’re about unleashing possibility through a life of discovery, and these new products invite outdoor dog-loving humans and their pups to join us on the journey,” said Ruffwear Director of Marketing, Susan Strible. “Our latest gear intro is designed with campers, hikers and backpackers in mind. Whether we’re heading out on our favorite trail or discovering new ones, the best adventures are the ones we share with our dogs.”

Camp & Hike Collection

  • Approach Pack — This backcountry day pack and light overnight pack offers performance, fit, functionality, more breathability and flexibility with a perforated, molded foam chassis with radial cut saddlebags, overall weight savings, and improved colorfastness with new materials. The updated “flopper stopper” system offers easier use when stabilizing saddlebags against the harness chassis and includes more streamlined saddlebag volumes. Sizes: XS-L/XL. Colors: Blue Dusk, Campfire Orange.
  • Hitch Hiker Leash — This climbing-inspired adjustable-length leash and hitching system is made with an adjustable, stowable strap for versatility as a leash and a portable hitch. The leash can be used hands-free, hand-held, or secured around a single post with up to 12 feet of reflective kernmantle rope. Colors: Aurora Teal, Slate Blue. 
  • Knot-A-Hitch — This climbing-inspired campsite dog-hitching system was made so dogs can roam around camp while remaining on a leash. Built with kernmantle rope, Knot-A-Hitch can be secured around two trees or a single post for up to 36 feet of roaming. A stow bag is included. New this year is an updated shell material for durability and colorfastness. Color: Red Clay. 
  • Pacific Loop Toy (new color) —This interactive tug toy has a centrally located tug pad with room between an owner’s hand and a dog’s mouth. It is made with durable materials and a buoyant foam core for water play. Colors: Aurora Teal and Sockeye Red.
  • Pacific Ring Toy (new color) —This interactive fling-fetch-tug toy is made with Dual Shield high-tenacity rope. Colors: Aurora Teal, Sockeye Red. 

Backpacking Collection

  • Palisades Pack — A high-volume multi-day pack for dogs includes removable saddlebags and an integrated compression system to stabilize the increased carrying capacity for gear-intensive treks. The Palisades has a long history in the Ruffwear pack lineup, and this season’s updates offer more breathability and flexibility with a perforated, molded foam chassis, overall weight savings and improved colorfastness with new materials. It also provides an updated flopper stopper system for easier use when stabilizing saddlebags and a new stash pocket configuration. Sizing S-L/XL. Color: Red Sumac.
  • Camp Flyer Toy (new colors) — A lightweight, flexible disc made of welded construction and the coated fabric is puncture-resistant and brightly colored for easy tracking. It has a waterproof finish for dual functionality as a bowl. Colors: Red Sumac.
