Rocky Shoes & Boots, Inc. announced that John Maser has joined the Company as Vice President-Apparel Business Development, a new position, effective immediately.
Mr. Maser held positions of increasing responsibility for the past 17 years with Whitewater Outdoors (Hingham, Wisconsin). Most recently, he was Vice President-Sales & Marketing. Whitewater Outdoors designs, sources and produces quality hunting garments and accessories, including an extensive line of camouflage styles.
Mike Brooks, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, “We are pleased to have a professional with John Maser’s industry experience join us to lead this significant extension of the ROCKY(R) brand. It underscores our commitment to this important category of the Company’s business. John will design, develop, source and oversee the sales and marketing of our branded apparel business.”
Mr. Brooks continued, “Following two years of development and testing, several branded clothing products and accessories were introduced in 2002. They include many of the quality features the ROCKY brand is known for, such as comfort, fit, waterproof, lightweight and advanced design. Strong retail sell-through was achieved during the first year of sales last year. During the current early booking season, dealers are responding to our branded apparel line extension with significantly higher orders than for the same period last year. Under John’s leadership, we plan to extend the ROCKY brand beyond footwear into additional apparel categories that complement our growth strategy.”
